Many active travellers dream of a walking vacation, and for some, walking the Camino de Santiago is near or at the top of the list.
Did you realize that you can choose to walk only part of the trip, and have your luggage (such as it is) moved from inn to inn……and all of your accommodations are booked for you- you just have to worry about enjoying the trail……various companies offer tours that allow this sort of trekking- and there is even a cycling tour of part of the trail……here is an example of just one of the tours offered!
Whether you choose to walk this trail for spiritual reasons or simply for the exercise, this self-guided tour allows you to focus on the walking and have all the details taken care of – all you need to do is pack your bags.
Priced from just $1825 plus flights, this is an ideal way to get a taste of the Camino without the time commitment of walking the entire trail.

Walk the Way of St James
The Camino de Santiago de Compostela one of the world’s oldest pilgrimage routes; travellers have made their way across northern Spain to Santiago on what is also known as ‘The Way of St James’ for over 1000 years. The way is marked by the symbol of the scallop shell, typically found on the Galician shores, and a great tradition of the route is to obtain the ‘compostela’, a certificate of accomplishment given to pilgrims upon completing the way, gained by walking at least 100km of the route, which we will do on this trip.
Your chance to:
- Follow the way of St. James
- Walk through rolling countryside
- Collect stamps in your pilgrim’s passport
At a glance:
- 8 nights in pensions and 2-3 star hotels with en suite facilities, all chosen for their convenient location
- 6 days walking with vehicle support
- 1 free day in Santiago de Compostela
- Low altitude throughout
- All breakfasts
- All accommodation (See below)
- All transport and listed activities
- Tour leader throughout
A limited number of single rooms are available for a supplement from £180GBP.
The trip consists of 6 days of walking and 1 free day. Your luggage is transferred between hotels, so you only need to take a day pack with you on the walks. The terrain and type of path track will vary from man made paved tracks, tarmac, forest trails to gravel.
