Adventure travellers often view the Arctic and Antarctica as two places on their must see list- and not just adventure travellers, but also photographers and wildlife lovers.
There are a number of companies offering adventure travel- for expedition cruises to the Antarctica and the Arctic, three of the best known companies specialising in these destinations are One Ocean Expeditions, Quark Expeditions, Adventure Canada and GAdventures. Each offer a range of activities in both the top and bottom of the world, and Adventure Canada as well as GAdventures also offer activities elsewhere.
I now find myself in the lucky company of other adventurers of heading out on an expedition with One Ocean Expeditions to the Antarctica. Our ice-strengthened vessel leaves on March 16 from Ushuaia at the very tip of South America. We are gone for 10 days- 4 of which we will be crossing to and from South America to the Antarctica.
Here is a copy of our itinerary- just to give you an idea of what we are doing and where we are going- Marine Mammals. Before and after we will be exploring Buenos Aires as well as Ushuaia- the place we leave from at the very southern tip of South America.
On the 28th of March, we leave on a week long tour from Buenos Aires- a full day exploring the city with a small group, then fly to Iguazu Falls for a couple more days, and then on to Rio de Janeiro- and there our tour ends and I will be flying home. Here is a link for the tour with Peregrine Adventures-Argentina and Brazil.
Most of the hotels we stay in will have wifi (quality unknown)- the expedition allows us to send and receive emails- I am hoping to post on my blog via email…..Although I may not always have a lot of time to provide updates, please feel free to check this and my Facebook page from time to time.
